BONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Iowa HF 183)

I am so dismayed by this news, I am not going to update again until the outcome of this bill.

Thanks to Rep. Rod Roberts, R-Carroll, we have this cute little mess here in Iowa now:

Evolutionary freedom

Teachers in public schools and postsecondary institutions who objectively present ideas on evolution, creationism, intelligent design or other information "relevant to the full range of scientific views" would be protected from discipline, denial of tenure, termination or other discrimination under HF 183 introduced by Rep. Rod Roberts, R-Carroll. The bill also requires students be evaluated based on their understanding of course materials and not penalized for subscribing to a particular position of view regarding chemical or biological evolution.

Update: The DI can suck it!

This person is firmly perched on the "I-Fail Tower"

Tayune: "Meanwhile, if you know anything about Genetics at all - you'd know it actually disproves the theory of evolution. Human evolution at least. Animals are different than humans after all."

*********************************************************

BTW, have you ever noticed how Science Fail is often coupled with Spelling Fail, Grammar Fail, Composition Fail...

O RLY?

Robert Stevens: "When i say everything is a science , I mean EVERYTHING , there are even those that now claim masturbation has sciences , folks I kid you not. If I went on with expaination it may be considered spamming."

Not technically science, but still FAIL

Jim Ryan: "I started telling teachers that kids need to use body and mind together in the learning process, because of how much faster they will learn, how much smartewr they will get and how much happier they'd be, since about 1997--on-line. About a year later I started hearing of a teacher here or there starting to do what I was telling them."

Just...no.

queen kira: "The layering of the Earth's crust is due to hydrologic sorting from the Flood. The fossils are found in the order in which they were buried, not the order in which they "evolved"."

Sooooomewhere, over the FAILbow...

In response to: If a rainbow is God's Promise that he will never again flood the Earth,
Does this mean that light refraction and the color spectrum didn't exist before Noah?

Mr. John: "In those times the atmosphere is not the same with what it is today. There was no vapor in the atmosphere to cause the refraction of light."

Noah's Ark and the Great FAIL!

[In response to evidence that large wooden ships simply do not work]

OrangeWIZARD: "What do ships have? A hull.

What snapped on the wooden ship? The hull.

Does the ark have a hull? No.

The. Ark. Is. A. Hollow. Rectangular. Prism."

Steaming Pile of Fail

Because confirmable observations and generating experimental data are impossible for unique events like life's origin and macroevolution theory, world-famous evolutionary biologist Ernst Mayr prompts evolutionists to construct historical narratives to try to explain evolutionary events or processes. In other words, stories are all evolutionists can muster to support macroevolution theory. If macroevolution theory, which must rest on faith in a story and is considered to be scientific, why not the creation story. With that in mind, it is no wonder the molecules-to-man debate has persisted for 150 years."

Now, even with as FAIL as that was, there was WIN in the comments section! QAPLAH!

tricoteuse: "I used to be the Op Ed of a community college newspaper. I wrote most of my editorials the night of layout, in about an hour. I still managed to be more accurate and well-informed, and present more (accurate and reliable) evidence and support for my positions than this sad little piece in a "real paper." COMMUNITY COLLEGE. Do they let just ANYONE write just ANYTHING these days? Do they even read this stuff before printing it? "Opinion" doesn't mean "load of unsupported bollocks I'm printing just because I can," at least not in any remotely respectable publication. (Again, we did better than this at COMMUNITY COLLEGE for pete's sake.) I don't really need to comment on the specific glaring examples of Epic Fail in this piece because most of the comments preceding mine have already done so beautifully. So I'll say no more. But seriously. EPIC fail."

Ladies and gentlemen, they felt that burn at the Alamo. Dor sho gha!

This is a fail that needs to die.

I see this argument from ignorant fucktards more than I care to say. It needs to die.

Sir Lucario: "Well "logically", according to the rabid religion-haters' little theory of evolution, gays would have been weeded out by natural selection. If they are born the way they are, and they can't "get it up" in the presence of a woman, then they cannot procreate."

Some people fail out of general principle

Ray Martinez: "Immutability is not harmed by artificial breeding. Immutability refers to species that exist in the undisturbed wild. Wherever a new species is found----that is where it was introduced by a direct act of special creation ex materia. There is no other way for species to appear."

This literally made my eyes hurt.

I could have chosen any number of paragraphs in this long, droning article (complete with atrocious punctuation to the point where it becomes unreadable), but the selection provided should give a good glimpse at the Science Fail.

Adam McLean:
"The central point within our consciousness, our "spirit" in the hermetic sense, can now be seen as an entity that can work to control quantum probabilities. To our "spirits" our brain is a quantum sea providing a rich realm in which it can incarnate and manifest patterns down into the electrical/chemical impulses of the nervous system. (It has been calculated that the number of interconnections existing in our brains far exceeds the number of atoms in the whole universe - so in this sense the microcosm truly mirrors the macrocosm!). Our "spirit" can through quantum borrowing momentarily press a certain order into this sea and this manifests as a thought, emotion, etc. Such an ordered state can only exist momentarily, before our spirit or point of consciousness is forced to jump and move to other regions of the brain, where at that moment the pattern of probability waves for the particles in these nerve cells, can reflect the form that our spirit is trying to work with."

Fail-sil record!

JPr: "I don't believe EVERY fossil FITS perfectly with the evolution theory. I can't look them up right now (too lazy). But, not every fossil FITS with the theory of evolution. Yes, maybe evolutionist don't use the term of missing links, but doesn't mean that there is none missing links that have been found.(At least you know what i mean by missing links.) And I don't believe evolution was just done like crazy. I believe, and is true that what Darwin observed were micro evolutions. Not actual evolutions how they are defined now."

****************************************************************

This gives me a chance to vocalize something I have noticed on Topix. It seems a disproportionate amount of the "Evolution Critics" that post the really, REALLY inane uneducated babble are from North Carolina. What this means, I don't know. However, it is an unsettling trend.

THE STUPID HURTS!-Redux

TheBundo: "Mammoths quick-frozen with undigested tropical vegitation in their stomachs? Again, explained in written HISTORY. The earth was surrounded by a water vapor that gave a more even temperature, a true greenhouse effect. When it was let loose, it flooded the earth, exposed the polar extremities to the cold of space where it was further, on average, from the sun, as we still see, and got cold fast. The lower spots ended up sinking further, becoming the oceans and seas. The higher spots became even bigger mountains, with severely tilting strata. The dinosaur bones when down under the seas and where covered with silt running off the higher areas to the lower as the water retreated. So many things man scrambled around trying to explain are all easily explained by the flood."

How Can I Have A Blog Called "Science Fail"...

...without Kent "Dr. Dino" Hovind?

Here is Soldier for Salvation's take on Hovind "science": "Evolutionists, what is your answer for how the mammoths got frozen in place?

Here is an explanation from a REAL scientist.

An ice meteor came flying through space and crashed into Earth. Due to the Earth's magnetic field, all of the ice fell and gathered on the poles (top and bottom). Also, the mammoths were instantly frozen in place. Also, the remnants flew out into space and created the polar caps of Mars and the icy rings of Saturn (what's your explanation for how those got there?).

If the mammoths got frozen in place, which they did, it couldn't have happened gradually. They would have decomposed. But they got frozen practically in place and instantly. This raises suspicion."

I am speechless.

Chicago Guy: "Would you be willing to accept Evolution if humans weren't part of the fossil record?"

FAIL...IN...SPAAAAAACE!

Hugo: "Atheist do you know if the moon was a centimeter closer to Earth we would have tidal waves? How can you not see someone put it there for a purpose? Even athiest can understand an engineering pincipal?"

Some people fail more than others

I am not going to post the entire ranting diatribe here, but I will give you a select nugget that should give you enough insight to understand this person's view on the human species.

Ranting, incoherent fucktard emails Pharyngula:
"When these people left there was a large group of men who took off and ended up in Africa. Some of these men went to Borneo and caught female Orangutans and sailed across to South America and had sex with the female Orangutans and created the Indian. And the men who stayed in Africa caught female Gorillas and had sex with them and created the Black man. When scientists found the bones they thought we came from a female Chimpanzee. But it wasn't a natural evolution it was a man made evolution. That' where Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Orangutan man, Yeti and the Skunk Ape comes from. They are half man and half Gorilla and half man and half Orangutan. When scientists find drawings in caves they were put there by Bigfoot and the Orangutan man. Scientists are either finding freaks of nature or their making mistakes or their findings things and they just don't know what they are."

How Much Science Fail Can YOU Fit In One Post?

Gomenasai: "as far as walking through walls, I believe the Lord Jesus's glorified body literally oscillates at a very high frequency. A rough comparison could be how visible light (in the electromagnetic spectrum) operates at a lower frequency than x-rays or gamma rays and cannot pass through a solid wall like the other 2 (although I realize radio does, faster doesnt necesarily facilitate this atribute, rather, a the "right" frequency to accomplish this. Its said though that love and happieness constitute higher vibrational states in us, not nearly what im talking about tho with Jesus) Could be wrong but the Lord certainly has made a reallly strange universe and frequency is one of the weirdest (and perhaps most prevalent, as I heard someone mention everything being product of a strings vibration, per se)"

A Fail That Brings Me To A Serious Question

NephilimFree: "Your belief in evolution is absolutely irrelevant to its voracity. You can test it by trying to disbelieve the theory of gravity. Atheists aren't building anything. There are not enough of the to build anything. They create in their mind the perceptiion that they are doing so, then they believe it. All based upon a rejection of Jesus Christ. Guess what. The mathematics and astonomical explainations of the secular world are fashioned to provide an alternative to the truth. The Eath is not moving. Time-lapse star photography proves it."

***********************************************************

OK, if your eyes are done bleeding from the drivel, we arrive at my serious question:

IS THERE ANY ACTUAL VALID, NON-THEISTIC CRITICISM/REFUTATION OF EVOLUTION?

If anyone has the answer, please let me know. You don't have to register to post here, and I do not moderate ANY comments. From my experience, bar none, all "criticisms" of The Theory of Evolution are theistic in origin. If anyone has concrete evidence to the contrary, I would LOVE to see it.
